maternity benefit to the female employee Indian govt made an act, which is
maternity benefit act. N.M. joshi is a
first person who made effort in 1924 for providing maternity benefit for the
employee. Some points of this act are-

Scope Of This
Act- every
factory, mines, every shop/ establishment where 10 or more people employed or
were employed in preceding 12 months.
Who
work 80 days or more in 12 months immediately preceding the date of her
delivery.
Total duration –
26 week
Additional leave
for illness due to pregnancy – 1 month
Nursing break- 4
including rest interval
